October 8, 2011 – Buttonwillow Raceway, Calif.

After a two month hiatus, the season had picked up again with a very busy race weekend. In Saturday’s day race, Geoff Sykes was able to beat the previous class record for the track configuration by 5 seconds. Then that evening, the 3 hour Enduro started just before nightfall. It was to be a lot of driving for one day.

“I drove the entire 3 hour stint, with lap times at night close to the previous daytime track record for my regular class”, said Sykes. “It was an intense drive and I ended up finishing third in the different Enduro E0 class, which was a great result for the car and placed me on the podium.”

Running an endurance race required a lot of race support and the team owed many thanks to Bob, Tony, Carlos and Jeremy. The pitstops were flawless with fast fuel refills and no penalty-causing fuel spills making for quick efficient stops. Fuel and pit strategy planning all worked out perfectly.
